so i am thinking about buying windows vista, full install version. which should i get? home premium? ultimate? 64 bit vs 32 bit
/?
is there an advantage in getting the 64-bit version?

Vista Home Premium is good for most home users, the extra features of Ultimate aren't worth it for most. If you are building a new system I would go with 64bit because it gives you the support for 4GB+ RAM now or in the future. If your system is less than 1 year old I'd stick with 32bit for compatibility. If your system is older than that stick with XP.

Check you can get all your 64 bit drivers for Vista x64 and your hardware, not hard to check over the net,it also has slightly better security then Vista x68(32 bit version) slightly streamlined as well since it does not support any old 16 bit legacy software,so if very old 16 bit legacy software is important to you go Vista x68.

Personally I'm using Vista x64 HP and find it very good on 32 bit compatibility and drivers have not been a problem for me,stability is also excellent.

Vista editions,differencies.
