Which virus is this?

Friend brought over his computer stating that he was hit with the Sasser worm.
I ran the removal tool from symantec and it indicated this and removed it. Even after we had reboot
the PC, the computer takes forever to load. Services didnt start and even after forcing them to start manually, it wouldn't do a damn thing. We couldn't even get to the internet to download patches since the Network Connection service didnt want to start. I couldnt install another antivirus software because windows installer service didnt want to start.

I'm lost and the only thing to do next is to fdisk and start all over again. i really think there's another virus on his laptop, but i'm not sure which one. does any of these symptons sound familiar to you?

It could be spyware. Try booting from another OS and scan the drive for virus' and spyware.

ran adaware - lots of stuff it found. deleted them and rebooted the PC and it still does the same thing.
im fdisk-ing it tomorrow.

download stinger from mcafee's website, put on a floppy or pen drive, and run that, that'll find the most common viruses.

Asked my friend Doc before he went back to the future...

He said it could be either Hepatitis or maybe the common cold.
