which video will be required?

if a person who wanted to start on gaming and set everything into it's maximum. What kind of video will he/she need if he's only running 1280 x 1024?

will a 7800 and x1900 be overkill for these type of users?

No, it would be just enough. My 7800GT still can't max out everything at 1280x1024 with VSync on BF2, let alone on FEAR.
