Im running a P4 2.0/768PC 800 RDRAM............I am looking between the high-end cards from ATi and Nvidia. I know the GFFX didn't perform as well in some of the trial tests but I think it will pull through at release time. Which card would run best with my system?
Thanks :)

If you have the money and the time, perhaps you would want to wait for the Radeon 9900s.

If you want a card right now your best bet would be to go with a Radeon 9700. The 9700 has the best performance right now for its price, on par with the GFFX(in most cases). While it is true that there may be hidden performance increases via driver upgrades for the GFFX, for over a hundred dollars more it's not worth it, imho. If you want to wait a bit the R350 and RV350 from Ati should be coming out and will be a whole lot better than the 9700.

Welcome to the forums. Yea, like PraetorianGuards said, Radeon 9700 is probably the best bet right now. Or if you want to add some extra pop, get the Radeon 9700 AIW. Hope this helps.

Depends what your trying to do. If you want something moderate for gaming I would wait for the Radeon 9900 Pro to come out, which will make the 9700 Pro prices go down, which in turn you would buy the 9700. Or if your looking a video editing computer I would look at a Radeon AIW 9700 Pro. If your extremely hardcore, I would think about waiting for a Radeon 9900 Pro.

Thanks everyone for the input. I haven't played a game on a nice graphics card (GeForce DDR) in a while so I think its about time to spend some money :)

but im still loyal to Nvidia though.......they gotta do better on the FX, they just gotta :(
