i have a sub $160 budget and is looking for a decent video card:

possibly radeon 7500, gts-v, gts-pro, gf2 ti or aiw radeon...or cheap gf3 (lmk if u know where i can get this under $160 thx)

which would provide a good fps rate in hl? (right now i get 30 average)

tv-out is a must...

i ahve a p3 600mhz, 256 mb ram...

will more expensive cards make any difference on my machine?

Damn, what vid card are you using? I got better than 30fps in half-life - When it came out!

Get a GeForce2 MX 400. I think they are around $100 now. Your machine is pretty slow, so anything else would not make much more of a difference. If you were going to upgrade sometime soon, I would suggest a GeForce3 Ti200. You can probably snag one for $160 OEM.

get a Geforce3 Ti-200 and overclock it to ti-500 speeds. You can get one OEM for about 160-170. By the way...this should be in video, or general hardware.

Depending on your mobo, I would get a Tualitan processor w/ a decent video card (Radeon LE or Geforce 2 GTS-V). If that's not possible, maybe save up for the powerleap tualitan conversion.
