A friend is ordering a dell 4100 today and was wondering whether to go with the...

- 32MB NVIDIA TNT2 M64 AGP Graphics Card

or, for $90 more...

- 32MB DDR ATI Radeon 4X AGP Graphics

He's only a light gamer and will mostly be using it for web development/photoshop, etc.

Any suggestions would be great.

Get him to go for the Radeon. If he's using it for 2d work, then he'll benefit from the better 2d quality of the Radeon, not to mention that even if he only plays the odd game, the radeon will wipe the floor with the TN2 M64.
 
I have had a M64 and I sold it ASAP because of the problems. Mind you this was a year ago almost but to the research I have made with video cards and my past experience I would have to say the Radeon is your best bet.

I would suggest he get the TNT2 M64, then sell it on this forum and buy a used Geforce 2 GTS for around $130-$150, also from this forum.
