I'm thinking that my problems might be caused by the incompatibility of the KT7A with GeForce 256 video card from Creative Labs... I'm going to check it out with a Voodoo 3 3000 card that a friend of mine has. In case the video problems dissapear and the system stops freezing I was wondering if any of you have a similar configuration and if your system is 100% and which video card you're using?
I have an ABIT KT7A with 256MB of PC133 Infineon memory, SB Live! Player 1024, IBM 75GXP 46GB hard drive in ATA66 mode, Pioneer 10/40 DVD ROM (ATA33), Plextor Plexwriter 12/10/32 (ATA). I thought the SB Live! was causing the problems but it turns out the video problems occur even without the SB Live!.
I'm looking for a stable setup, I don't want to spend too much money on the graphics card and I don't care about the performance. So please don't suggest Geforce2 Ultras, or Geforce3 card etc. I rarely play games and I've only played one 3D game in my life so I figure I'd be pretty happy with the 3D performance of any card. And yes, I'm using Windows 2000 Professional, this might be an issue with some manufacturers that just seem to forget there are other operating systems than Windows 9x and don't provide stable drivers.
Cheers,
Danijel
