The new mobo I just purchased, the Asrock FM2A85X-Extreme6 comes with a software program that touts that using it with that process you can like "crossfire" with ANY Video Card [not just an HD6670].
So down the road abit II plan to add something better that the afore mentioned......like an HD7770, 7750, or 6950/6870. My tops for money for this project would be probably like $150 or less [of course].
What do YOU think, please make your informed suggestions and,,,,,,

THANKS, michael:confused:

I think a 6870 would be great for your setup. Price/performance wise it can't be beat. Go for it!

i don't believe the onboard trinity graphics portion will "dual graphics" crossfire with just any video card. I have seen nothing to support the crossfiring of APU 7660 with anything higher than a 6670/7670.

Although AMDs APUs supposedly support asymmetrical crossfire, wouldn't it exacerbate microstuttering due to differing frame render times? and thus crossfire would automatically downclock to the lowest component? Have they solved microstuttering yet? if they have this probably will become a nonissue soon.

Your board will, however, allow crossfire of same architecture/similar dedicated GPUs via it's abundant pci-e slots
If you have the money, it'd be better to just forgo "dual graphics" altogether

dual graphics best case scenario

many games don't seem to work well with it, though I hope driver updates have fixed that

the best VGA for dual graphics is the 6670 DDR5,
but I think you should just disable the IGP and go with just a single card, a 7770 will already beat dual graphics comfortably,

at $150 maybe you can find a 7850 1GB?

or at least a GTX 650 Ti.
