New vote topic.
Please help me decide to see which video card is faster. It's between the Radeon 9000 with 64MB and the GF4 MX440SE with 64MB.
I just received the GF4 today and found out that's it's the MX440SE, would this make a difference as to which one is faster?

Thanks.

Thanks.

I don't think GF4 MX400 exists. It might be GF2 MX400 or GF4MX420/440.
You should take a GF4 MX 440 if that is what your asking for.

There is no such thing as a gf4 mx400--there's a gf2 mx400 or a gf4 mx420, mx440, and mx460.

Here are some results I obtained when I had a R9200 (which is after all just a R9000) and a Geforce4 MX440 which clearly show that there isn't much of a difference:-

AMD Athlon XP 2500 BARTON (11x166mhz)
SIS746FX motherboard
512mb DDR333 memory
Detonator v44.03
Catalyst v3.6
SIS AGP v1.16a
Windows XP Home edition with SP1

64mb Gainward Geforce4 MX440 (270/400)
128mb Sapphire Radeon 9200 (250/400)

All games tested with max quality settings and with sound enabled for real game results!

(results are gf4mx440 & r9200)

3dmark 2001 se (1024x768) = 6367,6904
3dmark 2003 (1024x768) = 254,1098

Quake 3 (demo4):-

800x600x32bit = 198,194
1024x768x32bit = 145,135
1280x1024x32bit = 121,111

Quake 3 4xfsaa:-

640x480x32bit = 96,85
800x600x32bit = 66,57
1024x768x32bit = 43,28

Serious Sam 2 (Elephant Atrium):-

800x600x32bit = 152,157
1024x768x32bit = 108,129
1280x1024x32bit = 87,94

UT2003 flyby HQ (Antalus):-

800x600x32bit = 88,77
1024x768x32bit = 58,51
1280x1024x32bit = 39,35

Take the 9000, it is easily better. It is ususally faster in all things, and if it is slower in something, it is by less then 5% and the 9000 is a directx 8.1 card, which gives it all kinds of cool looking features. the mx440 is dx7 and is only a pumped up gf2mx, and a gf2mx400, is marginably slower then a 9000.

Ching ching...but get the 128meg pro edition...although a 64meg would still smoke the mx card

This looks like the MX440 is much faster?

the guy may have had bad settings, or a driver problem, the 9000 is faster then the mx440 and very close to the mx460, the radeon 9000 pro 128Mb is a great card, miles ahead of either, and is on par with a radoen 8500.

This card is only for my second system. I got one of those 9800 at 9800 Pro speed. So I cannot decide that's all. But the MX440 is definitely better than the Radeon 7200 right?
