I'm setting up an older PC for my brother. I need to put in one of my older video cards.


ATI All-in-Wonder 9000 Pro

NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 4000


Yeah, I know both are old and suck. He won't be using the TV tuner, so for Windows XP performance and very light infrequent gaming, which one should I put in his PC?

Depends. Is he using a high quality analog monitor?

I remember the 9000 looked much sharper on my trinitron than a 4200ti. Try both, see which one looks better. Either one should have more than enough oomph to do the windows desktop.
 
ATI All-in-Wonder 9000 Pro is a much more capable card with more multi-media features & considerably better image quality.
