Too be honest, I would go as cheap as you can. Thats still a good RTS lan box, starcraft will always run nice :) But since your truly LACKING in horsepower for the vast majority of todays games I would go as inexpensive as possible.

Things I would recomend that you dont have listed though would be a 16Meg Banshee card. or a voodoo3 2000, both of these cards have good 2d quality and can do Glide games respectable on that system in 16bit color, I used to play UT and half life on a system very similar to that with a monster fusion 16meg (banshee) and it was really quite enjoyable.

But I wouldnt put much better then that in there. sure a Geforce3 would be nice too many other things are holding you back. its only going to bas fast as the slowest part :)

But if you ever want to use it as an emulation box on the side, you might want to spring for a card with TV-out. If not, the cheapest is best.

How about a GTS -V? That might be a good alternative for a low cost. Probably under $50.

I have a similar set-up with my son's computer, AMD K6-2/500, using TNT2 M64 32MB video card. I got the MSI-8808 from Newegg for $38.00 w/shipping. Works great for an older system with a 15" Monitor.

You might be able to get an mx200 off eBay for under $40. Or check out the FS forum for any TNT2 cards.

Well, I've seen the SiS 301 with 16 MB RAM for $55, the 32 MB SiS 305 for $55, the 128MB (!!) SiS 315 for $149 and the MX 200 for $95. (Prices are in AU$).

Comments still valued.
