Finally got my 8k5a2 set up and I have been messing with it the last few hours. Just a few questions for the experts, when I downloaded the latest 4 in 1 I think 4.43, do I install everything, or is there certain drivers that I leave out. Also, I do have a yellow question mark around the USB 2.0 icon in the device managers, is there something I can do to fix that? I checked EPOX's site and there is a USB 2.0 driver, but it's only for 98 and ME and I am using Windows XP Professional. Finally, I did install sp1, but my drive is still in ultra dma 5 mode, is there anyway I can get to ultra dma 6 so I can utilize the ata133. I have a Western Digital 120GB 8 mb buffer, although it does say ata 100 maybe that answers my own question. Thx again for any help or comments

Yes, you install all the drivers.

The USB 2.0 drivers are on the CD that came with the board. Pop it in and choose USB 2.0 drivers from the menu that opens up.

Yep, you answered your own question. The WD drives are ATA100. The only ATA133 drives on the market are the D740X series of drives from Maxtor. There is absolutely no performance difference between ATA100 and ATA133, so don't sweat it. :)

did anyone validate that the USB driver is compatible with windows xp? Thanks

Also, another Newbie question, there was a jumper on the motherboard to make the machine run either at 100 or 133 (133 or 166), not sure which one, does it make a difference which one it's set at?

Yes, when you run the USB 2.0 install program from the CD that comes with the board, the install program says "USB 2.0 Driver for Windows XP". I have two of these boards and it works fine..

Yes, the board comes with it in the 100mhz position (pins 1 & 2) and you want to put it on the 133mhz FSB postion (pins 2 & 3) unless you are running an older 200mhz FSB Athlon.

:)
