Which version of WMP did you like best?

I would do a poll but i dont know all the versions, suppose it could just be 1.0-11 beta but i dunno.

Just reinstalled windows there, and its got WMP 9 by default, im liking it a lot more than i liked 10. The UI just seems... better. Not as overcomplicated. Dosent seem slow either.

The latest, of course. That's one thing MS is good at; their new is always better than their old.

I like 9 better than 10 and have avoided 11 because its a beta. Might give it a spin at some point though.

6.4 was better than 7-9. 10 was pretty decent, but I wanted my SPACEBAR PAUSE!! GRR!!

Finally 11. 11 is really nice, convenient, and pretty lookin'. 🙂

Those who haven't tried 11 should try it.

Why use WMP when there are SOOOOO many more free open source Media players out there.

one example is VLC media player, it supports ALL video formats UNLIKE WMP that olny supports some formats. and as for music I personally use MusikCube. it is SWEET. if your intrested in some nice Video/ audio programs then you should look into these, they are the BEST 2 audio / video slutions i have ever found on the open source network.

Thats not what the question asked.
The question was what version do you use.

I said I used WMP11 but used Media Player Classic for all my movies.

You are nothing but a troll

And technically if you install the right codec packs, WMP can play just as many formats as the others.

11 is a huge improvement... I'm pretty impressed especially for a beta.

Oh and:
"a troll is often someone who comes into an established community such as an online discussion forum, and posts inflammatory, rude, repetitive or offensive messages designed intentionally to annoy or antagonize the existing members or disrupt the flow of discussion, including the personal attack of calling others trolls"
Just thought I'd throw that out there

So then your a troll too for pointing out me possibly being a troll for pointing out someone else for being a troll?

😉 It's all good.

6.4

If only they had made it more feature-rich. Media Player Classic did that and now WMP as a whole is useless to me.

Ok, lets bow down and praise WMP 11!

But why? Whys it the best? Whys it so good? Can it play dvd's yet?

I don't believe any legal software can play DVDs "out of the box" for free. You need to pay some MPEG consortium a licensing fee for CSS decryption. Media Player Classic does it anyway but I've already paid for a DVD decoder so it's not like I'm robbing them of anything. They've had DVD playback support (with a compatible software/hardware decoder) in WMP since version 9, or even earlier.
