I have 4.25 right now coming with k7t pro 2a board.
I have hanging windows problem on startup. A member in this forum suggested upgrading newest version of via driver. I want to try anything, even if I'm not sure it's gonna fix the problem.
Thanks.

bluesky, try the latest Matrox drivers for your card,I`m using the 4.25a drivers with my MX card with no problems also I presume you are not using Win2000(you are aware of the AMD & Win2000 patch) anyway go into Bios disable all video shadowing.

Thanks guys.
Are there 4.25 and 4.25A two different versions?
I updated G450 driver. Now I have to wait until tomorrow morning if it makes a difference, since windows only hangs when I start the computer several hours after I shutdown.

bluesky,
I had this problem with Soyo K7 VTA motherboards and Gigabyte GA 7ZX which both use the Via chipset and 4 in 1 drivers. There is a version .27a available but in my experience the drivers that come with W98 SE work fine anyway. Funnily enough, the new GA 7ZX Rev 1.01 mobos work fine with no cold restart problems. They have a different bios revision!
Good luck:)

Adam.
If I want to uninstall the via driver, my only choice is manually removing the files?
Thanks.

the 4in1 install proggy has an uninstall option for each feature. just rerun the install proggy and select uninstall.

Well, maybe it's just my case.
I unistalled the via driver, and messed up something. I had to take out sound card and firecard to startup going in safe mode.
Eventually, messed up bios, tried to reinstall bios, and it's really messed up my system. I can't even boot up to floppy, so it's a huge paper weight now.
