Which version of the name Max is better?

MAxwell, because my favorite radio show host is named Maxwell.

And the only thing that comes to mind with Maximilian is from that Goof troop movie?

P.S. Am I a huge Star Wars nerd for knowing that Maximilian was the first name of General Veers, the guy who shot the Rebel's shield generator at Echo Base with his AT-AT? I haven't cared about Star Wars since early high school but I still remember all sorts of random crap like that...

None. Max itself it fine, all the longer versions suck. If you want to name a kid Max just name him Max. There's no law that it has to be short for something else.

This is how I was leaning, but most prefer the others.

I have also read several times that Max is a very popular name, though I have never known anyone named it.
