I have all 3 and wondering what you guys think
I am not going to shell out for 2 versions of the same game

i was thinking GC because of Link, just afraid that the controller might be an issue

i saw the commercial and it definitely looks great

just wanted to know if anyone has an import copy of the GC and how they like it

Link is probably the best exclusive character, why not get the Soul Caliber II joystick that's coming out? It' only $40 and it's a univeral joystick that works with all consoles.

I doubt it. It's very good marketing hype. I wish they wouldn't call controllers specific names because it implies there is something special about the game that requires a new controller (ie that mech game for X-Box).

whats pathetic is that even 4 years after the original, the new one doesn't look any better graphically. In fact, if you view the original one on a VGA box, its superior.

Are you kidding? The original didn't even support HDTV resolutions (like the xbox version does). I broke out the DC and played a little the other day, judging from the screenshots and movies I've seen, the new version does look better.

Anyone get their copy yet of the US release? At another forum I frequent, there's a guy who said he ordered it from gamestop and got an email saying release date has moved to the 20th for preorders. He had overnight shipping and should be getting it today he was assuming.

I'd love to get a copy before this weekend, I'll have nothing but time to play it🙂

Just to let you know...the HDTV resolution is 720p and its NOT widescreen. Check up some reviews of the import and you'll find this out. Sad but true 🙁

GC - has Link (heh, my favorite character of all time), comes in 2nd for graphics, has okay controls.
PS2 - has Heihatchi from the Tekken series, loads the longest out of the 3, comes in 3rd for graphics, excellent controls
XBOX - has Spawn, definetely comes in 1st for graphics, has HDTV and Dolby Digital 5.1 support, has good controls.

I myself would personally get the GC version, because it comes as an alrounder in all categories, except the character, because it has the best character out of all, I think.

hope that helps!

Can you confirm this? I ordered from them also and i'd be awesome to pick it up already. 😀

I'm getting the Gamecube version. I'm undecided about purchasing a controller for it as all the reviews I've read said that the GC controller works fine with the game.

x-box has spawn.

that one wins.

link >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> spawn

if i had a TV that was 16:9 i would probably get the box even though its only at 480p but that would be the only reason to get the xbox version

IMO

I read about the that stick on the SC Forums and every pretty much dismisses it if you really want to get into Soul Calibur

so I got a Hori Official SC2 Arcade stick this is the official Jap one but I paid $60 for it

I know for a fact that Soul Calibur is available at EBGames. Went there yesterday to get F-Zero and they were out, along with one playing the intro over and over again on their display X-Box. Man, did the intro look amazing. I was tempted to go buy it right there, but I already did the KBToys.com deal. Can't wait!

I have the GC version and there is no load time. None at all.

I was over at a friends on last Saturday night, "helping" him get the kinks out of his copy of SC2.
I noticed a small but definite lag in loading of some of the "Weapon Master" missions. It was usually
covered by a screen of some Soul Calibur art work, and I really didn't mind it so much as it give you
a couple of seconds to stretch your fingers.

On the plus side however, it would seem that all of Link's special moves from his games have been
recreated as moves you can use in fights. (Some might take too long to pull off in anything but practice
sessions).

The visual quality (to me) was at least equal to the Dreamcast with VGA.
