Which version of DirectX are you running?

Is 7.0 or 7.0a the standard? Are they stable?
Anyone running 8.0Beta?
I think I'm still back on < v6 and want to know opinions so I don't upgrade to something junky (I'm running a win98) ..

7.0 had problems I`m running 7.0a and it seems to do the trick, I`d wait awhile on 8.0 IMPO... dem buggs get ya!!!

Running DirectX 7a, on my MSI K7T PRO &amp; Geforce2 MX (Win98) no problems.

7.0a is the current &quot;retail&quot; version.
Alot of the newer games require 7.0 to be installed.
The 7.0a included a bug fix for Direct Input.
WinME comes with 7.1 and there are many versions of DirectX8 in beta form out.
The current leak is the RC0 version,

DX8Beta b0rked my box, so I'm back to 7a

I'm running 7.0a at the moment, a friend that's a games programmer gave me a copy of DX8 beta, they use it on their developement systems on win2k. I haven't put it on my system yet, don't even know what build it is, but he recieved it last week. I haven't got a video card that makes use if the features so i'm not sure if i'll risk it.
