Which variable speed fan?

I have the YS Tech fan and I am very happy with it. It has a high-pitched whine to it at full speed, but once you drop it to 60% or lower, it is almost inaudible and still cranks out a fair amount of air. I sincerely doubt there is enough a difference between the two fans at full power to make any noticable difference. I'd recommend the YS Tech.

nice to hear some positive feedback on the ys tech fan. does anybody have any experience with the crystal clear fans? i'm interested in how good the knob controls are and such, and a comparison between the noises, like whether it produces a high pitch, or a more bearable lower pitch noise.

Have you considered getting a non adjustable fan and then putting a knob on it? or a voltage regulator? That would be more cost effective, plus you'd be able to move more air.

hey goodmare,

thanks for the suggestion. i actually thought about doing something that, but decided that i'd rather go with some adjustable fans instead. rite now i'm running panaflo L1A's, and just want something that can still be super quiet when i want, and give me the extra cooling when i need it. both of the adjustable fans at svcompcycle look like they have very nice specs, especially for variable speed fans.

any other suggestions will definately be appreciated. :)

Glad to offer my opinion:)
In that case, I think the second fan (the y.s. tech). It moves nearly enough air, or at the lowest setting less than the other. the knob is much nicer on it, but you will need to add a grate additionally (if applicable).
Frankly, both fans are priced well, and both are able to move more than twice the air as your panaflo.

I wouldn't get the LED variable speed fan. Its good but the LED's are annoying b/c they blink on and off. Its supposed to, but I think they should mention it. Its ok for a closed off pc, but if its for a moddem pc and you dont like the blinking, I'd reconsider.
