So I've made a thread in nearly every hardware forum here asking about a different part of my build, and I thought the monitor would be one I wouldn't have to ask about... but the deeper I dig the more choices I'm finding out about. So here I am again, hopefully posting this is the right area wondering which road I should take.
This build will be very gaming focused. I don't do pro image editing, WILL do some reading (like here), and at times movies but overall it'll be used for fast paced games. I'm looking at 22-24" displays
So what I'm seeing is there's TN, PVA, and IPS. TN is quick but has poor viewing angles and color isn't great. IPS is the most color accurate, and PVA is in between. My question is, do any PVA or IPS panels exist that are fast enough for gaming? More importantly, any that exist in the ~300 price range.
My other thought is the 120Hz thing. I'm sure it's the preferred choice for games, but I don't see a lot of 120Hz monitors, and even fewer in my price range. And a lot of them seem to be 3D ready, which I don't really care about and that may be part of the cost.
Soooooooo with all that info what should I look for? I assume a fast TN panel would be best, and 120Hz would be even better. Or would be it worth it to find an IPS panel for proper color as long as it's fast enough.
Like... would this be any good for games:
