Seconding the netflix subscription idea. Streaming-only is like $8 a month, first month's free, and they've got craploads of stuff. (Not everything, but enough to keep you in front of the screen for a couple months. And you can always upgrade to a DVD subscription later.)

Angel. The primary actor cheated on his wife with the same chick Tiger did. It'll make your wife wish he'd cheat again and you will wish you knew the girl..

Good choices so far, but one overlooked since it's a bit dated:

Animaniacs.

My sister keeps recommending Fringe to me.

I can't recommend anything personally. My current plate is full catching up/finishing Bleach, Soul Eater, and My Little Pony, none of which are really girl-oriented shows.

"my little pony" not a girl oriented show?

i understand it's good for guys too, but that doesn't completely change the target audience.

Where can you watch Bleach in english dub?

Well, you can stream it here:

Just click on the dubbed tab.

I don't know why you'd want to watch dubbed, though. While the voice acting is ok for the most part, the dialogue changes make the show cheesier. And Orihime is even more annoying.

Rukia is played to perfection in Japanese. I wouldn't be able to give that up.

It's weird, but true.
Lauren Faust hit "moe" with My Little Pony. With female characters, that hits the male parental, "Dawwww," most hard. So as far as appealing to adults, it's mostly 18-35 males getting a kick out of the show.

I tend to listen to TV shows while looking at other screens or doing other things. Subtitles make that impossible lol.

Although I do love Rukia's japanese voice, understand or no.

Breaking Bad...new season will start in July I believe, so there is time to get caught up.
Normally I would not have recommended anything with violence for a prego but since she has watched Rome I figure she can handle it. BB is the best show on television.

Parenthood is also a great show she would enjoy.

The Killing would be good. The US version has two eps left but the Swedish version (denmark?) was finished in 2007 I think.

I'm just finishing up watching The Crimson Petal and the White and it's pretty damn good.
