The best one is the one that best meets your needs and looks best to you. If you're not able to see them in the stores, check out the specs and features online or read some reviews. AVSForum is a good resource for this type of stuff.

Hmm...you must be in the UK or something. Sucks, because that means I can't say "Just get a Vizio instead!" Out of the two I would much rather have the Samsung with the better motion processing.

As with other things, just because it's bigger, doesn't mean it's better. The "motion engine" in each unit uses algorithms to determine what might happen in between each frame. Visual quality comes not just from the number of inserted frames, but how good a guess the system makes for each pixel and where it might be.

With all specifications listed ..your opinion is needed for Me to conclude the transaction

LG TVs are generally not as well made and have less of the forced applications like Samsung products.

The user interface of the Samsung is broken down more so it is much simpler.

I personally don't like the remotes of the LG's and would have to say the Samsung TV's are better and would suit you more, but without your opinions nobody can tell you what's better.

Both TV should be judge on their specification not on their brand..

Why? This is a tv not a computer. Specs on TV given by the manufacturer are almost all marketing lies. The only real "specs" is when a model gets reviewed by a professional with equipment, and if you had that you wouldn't ask us.

So them we have to go by brand. The brand LG has exactly one model that impresses a pro, its OLED TV. This isn't that, so we can assume its like the rest of LG TVs which are so-so. That leads to the Samsung.

This isn't comparing CPU speeds. People that buy TVs by the "specs" given get screwed.

I'm a novice in this situation and want to know the best..like samsung uses active 3D which is quite better than passive. But the LG has a nice built since it has no bezel on the sides and it's quite slim/narrow. The samsung does look OK but not as cute as the LG.. I keep hearing samsung tech is better than LG..i need you guys to throw some more light on this..Thanks in advance and remember I'm a novice here.

If you are judging a TV by 3D and aesthetics you are doing it wrong. TVs should be judged by black levels, motion performance, color reproduction and overall picture quality.

Given all that, I would rather have the Samsung with 3D that is more of a hassle and 2D that is good. I have three 3D tvs and grand total between them I have maybe watched two 3D movies so I don't personally see 3D as any feature worth deciding on.

The best bet is to just read reviews yourself and decide. The LG has a few:

http://www.techradar.com/us/reviews...plasma-and-lcd-tvs/lg-47lm760t-1083576/review

http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/tvs/1292293/lg-47lm760t-47in-led-tv

And the Samsung has an identical American version with many reviews:

http://www.cnet.com/uk/products/samsung-ue46f6500/

http://www.trustedreviews.com/samsung-ue46f6500_TV_review

http://www.avforums.com/review/samsung-f6500-ue40f6500-led-lcd-television-review.9680

After looking at those personally I would get the Samsung.

Not to thread-crap, but does any major manufacturer make a no-frills performance TV without a lot of the smart-tv, 3D crap? Just great panel quality and performance?

Yup. Buy a Samsung F5300 plasma (any size) while you can.
