which tv is better?toshiba-32AF43 or sony-32FS100

Before you are flamed for posting in the wrong forum, I would take the Toshiba for the quality/price. I have a 27" Toshiba and it was a lot cheaper + looked just the same than Sony 27". I think the qualities around the same.. so why not pay less.

Defenetely a short lived post. Sony name goes a long way for me. As most of my equipment is Sony thats the company I would go for, even if it meant paying ~$100 extra just for the brand. On the other hand I got some Toshiba's at home which lasted me 5-10 years without any problems. So while nothing is wrong with Toshiba I would still take Sony just because of the name. Kinda like buying a Porsche when it's not necessarily the fastest car for the price.

sony brand has gone way down over the years... My 32xbr is dying.. I know its caps are drying out. Colors are bleeding, not much contrast. Its probably not worth fixing unless I do the work myself and that will be a pain...

Now sony's commercial and medical grade stuff is a different story... Much better quality, but very expensive.

My sony vcr is garbage.. After about 6 months its ejecting mechanism failed. Same thing with their dvd players.. It has problem reading discs and its only 3 years old... One good thing about sony, they make great remotes...

I would say give mitsubishi a try. Their vcrs are solid and my ancient 19"MCA tv is still going strong. My first generation 35" mitsubishi set is also in need of caps..

I just bought a toshiba dvd player.. It seems pretty decent quality. If those are your 2 options, I would go with toshiba.

Mitsubishi no longer sells direct view (non projection) TVs. It is too bad, as my 31" model from 1996 is still one of the best standard definition TVs I have ever seen. My 1990 26" model is nearing the end, though.
