My current setup is as follows...

Soyo K7V Dragon (original, i.e. not a +)
Athlon XP 1700
VisionTek Geforce2 GTS-V
256MB RAM Crucial DDR PC2100
WD 40GB HD

I use the built in sound and NIC.

Under Win98 everything works like a charm.

Install XP...lockup city....but only when using 3D and playing some (but not all) videos.

I recognize this as the infamous Infinite Loop error and have tried every fix/driver/prayer I could find and cannot get rid of that @#$@# Loop error.

I've finally got some extra $$ and figured I'd upgrade either the Video Card or the Motherboard to see if I can get rid of the problem, but which to upgrade?

Which is most likely to correct the problem?

Please list a suggested replacement for the one you think should be replaced.

My budget for this upgrade is around $100.

Thanks for your input.

Try exchanging the power supply first. You may be having a power supply problem with the board/chip combo?

To me it sounds like a voltage problem to the cpu or video card.

I did change from a 300 to a 350...

How big should I go...or what should I look for on the Power Supply?

One with at least 25 amps on the +3.3v and 30 amps on the +5v rails. The more the better usually.
