One thing I neglected to add to the original post was that I have 2 gigs of DDR and a Thermalright X-90. Because of the hs I'm thinking I should use it to extend my OC to its possible max.
Also, I feel I need to nullify the OC advantage the C2D has over this rig by OCing the sh** out of it. I saw the AT article comparing the X2 to Intel's latest and I want to feel like I'm not throwing my money away, and OCing kinda does that for me. But I can't do this without the idea that the more mature 939 is going to provide stability along with that OC whereas the c2d is both bleeding edge and the mobos are very expensive, or atleast the better OCers.
Lastly, whether it's wize or not, I usually use the replies by Newegg customers to get some stats on how well the various motherboards perform. I don't like to go for a board that shows less than 70% for the "excellent" vote. Also, I check the dates and try to note which of the boards(or items) has had positive comments during the current month. Sure, not everyone makes the best decision, but so many of newegg's customers are, I believe, experienced and worthy of at least a read.
The Biostar rates 70%, the MSI K8NGM2-FID gets 65%, and the Foxconn 6150K8MA-8EKRS rates a 64% in newegg's "excellent" vote.
Nevermind, that's probably a load of krap.
I'll probably use this for a while and then give it to my girlfriend, but not until I can get a first rate c2d setup at a sweet deal. I can't imagine ever using gigabit networking, and I can't see any real advantage of the 6150 over the 6100 as neither one will satisfy when playing a real game.
I just wish I knew which, between the Foxconn and the Biostar, is the better overclocker.
