Which to choose for 3d modelling application

Was wondering is i5 4460 good at 3d modelling applications? Such as lightwave 3d,3ds max, etc... or must i get i7 better?
 
A i7 will not increase viewport performance but it will decrease render time. You don't have to get a i7. I'm using 3ds max on a dual core laptop.
You can search for 3ds Max benchmarks and decide youself if the extra costs are worth it
