I've got an ECS K7S5A mobo. Do the 1.3-1.4 XP's overclock more than the 1.3-1.4 Tbirds? Since the XP's use less power, wouldn't they o'c more easily? Since this mobo has no multiplier adj in the bios, my only overclocking is via FSB, unless I cut/connect bridges to raise the multiplier, in which case the XP so far would seem to be a lot of work to do. Another thought is if I would need to lower the multiplier to get a higher FSB, though may not be necessary as my two sticks of Crucial PC2100 may not go high enough for that to be needed anyway. Does anyone have trace tape yet that works?
I've got an Antec 400W PSU.

Another question is would a 1.3 XP overclocked max out at about the same speed a 1.4 XP overclocked would max out at?

Get the XP since...

[*]price difference is virtually nil
[*]XP offers core refinements (HWPF, SSE, TD, etc)

Since your using the K7S5A get the XP and do overclocking from the FSB as you've proposed, anything else and you may as well just get a different board, what with all the time and effort you'd expend. as to unlocking the XP(for the K7S5A just the voltage mod would suffice), checkout the guide @ Overclockers the new interactive one allows you to select your desired settings.

Sorry, I don't have a definitive answer to that. perhaps someone more familiar with the stepping, ect. will know.
