The following TN LCD's are available at my country and in my price range, which one has the best brightness and contrast ?
It will be used mostly for reading (I want strong colors) but also some casual gaming.

1. LCD Samsung 2494LW 24´´
5ms, 300cdm, 24", 16.7m, 1:50,000, full HD DVI.

2. LG W2343T LCD ´´23
5ms, 1:30,000, DVI, FULL HD, 300cdm 23"

3. LCD Samsung Lavender P2350
2ms, 23", 300cdm, 1:50,000, FULL HD DVI

4. Samsung 2333SW LCD 23"
FULL HD 300cdm, DVI, 1:1000 typical, 1:20,0000, 23"

Would appreciate any help..
I will look at them at the store, but I just need to know what would YOU take even though all the stats are the same..

whichever costs the least, they all look good. Youll want to run 1280x720 so text isn't microscopic. You can try enlargening the text but from my experience, lower resolution looks and works way better.

Personally I dislike 1920x1080 (16:9), so I would look for a 1920x1200 (16:10) option. I read from top to bottom, so screen height is more important than width. Also, some games may not support 16:9 resolutions, but most will support 16:10.

Fixed that for you. Really a good looking TN?

IPS ones cost at least 500USD where I live, and the above cost around 300USD so ...
Oh I can get a 2009wa DELL (or something) but it's 22" and I want a 23-24" ...

no no no. Just because it's a TN doesn't mean it looks "bad" by default. It depends on your demands for color accuracy, but some TN's aren't too bad in that sector too, like my 2493HM.

My vote is for choice 3 if you want the 2ms response time for gaming, but that means poor color quality. For everything else I'd say choice 1, which should be fine for gaming too with 5ms response time.

Seriously, don't bash TN monitors just because they look worse on paper. I've used both S-PVA and TN monitors and honestly in everyday use you're not going to be picking out the minute details and differences.

nobody in their right mind is going to buy a 1920x1080 monitor and run it at 1280x720. who the heck wants to look at a blurry screen? its simple just to increase the text size on webpages if you are really that blind.

I have both IPS and TN displays.

Yes, all the TN displays look "bad". Even horrible compared to the IPS displays.

Yes. Top end TN panels look good(Just not as good as the best other panel types). TN panels are still far more responsive than any other type which makes them ideal for gaming. It's an urban legend that they all suck. The difference between a current gen and a first gen TN panel is like night and day. Anyone who says all TN panels suck has merely never seen or used a good TN panel.

Soooo, do you get a kick out of contributing nothing in threads? The guy gave a list of 4 monitors and you go on talking about something unrelated. Boohoo, there's no IPS. If I told you I had a Toyota Corolla, would you rip on me for not having a BMW or Corvette?

To OP: All those monitors are great TNs, and I can't speak for the first three, but I know the last one is a Syncmaster, which I know is a great line of monitors that I wish I had gotten. So plus one for the last choice.

Thanks ! I kinda get what you are saying - Not much difference between all 4...
I'm leaning towards the LG because of the design and good warranty service (DHL pickup) plus it's cheapest, at 250$

I'll go with the one with the glossy finish ... Need to go look at them at the store
