Which tires would you pick?

Hey everyone,
I am needing new tires for my car.
I picked up a set of nice rims, and I am mounting 205/40/17 tires on them.

I already got a good price quote on a set of Fuzion ZRi tires which I think I might just go with, unless someone has had them and says they suck. Most people are recomending them as the best bang for buck out there. I am not interested in spending a fortune, but I won't roll on a Kumho 711, either. I was previously debating over Yokohama Parada Spec-2's which I actually HAD agreed to buy, but they became backordered from my guy and I am off looking again.

I am using this site for reference https://www.tiretrends.com/ and I can't cut and paste their 17" selection, but if you enter the tire size, you will see what they can get in the correct size.

Really just wanting some opinions from people who've had some of these tires and know how good they really are.

Thanks for all your help!

I can only comment on the spec 2's. They have been awesome tires for me. Great traction dry or wet. I don't use them in the winter so I can't comment on snow. I'm going on my 3rd spring/summer/fall season using them and they still have plenty of tread left also.

If it were me, I'd wait on the Yoke's. What price were you going to pay for them?

My price on the Yokohamas was considerably higher than the Fuzions, but they are 2 different people, so I think I might be able to get them a little cheaper even yet if I look. I was quoted $840 (Canadian) for 4 Paradas installed and balanced. but only $565 (Canadian) for the Fuzion ZRi's installed and balanced.. both supposedly great tires. My friend just put Paradas on his car, I might have to take it for a rip and see how they are..

Also, they will never be seeing snow, so no one has to comment on that. :) (I have winter tires)

I thought I heard that somewhere.

Yes, in the same factory at least apparently.
one of my reasons for liking them.
I have Potenza 730 tires now which I love dearly, they have been great, but they do not make them anymore, and their equivalents are expensive. so I am off to other things :p

I'm not really concerned too much about where to buy, I can buy all these tires from either Tiretrends (Canadian) or locally. But, no, I haven't looked into it... I am from Canada, and I don't really want to pay duty on tires, so if that stores is in the U.S., I can't be bothered unfortunately.

That's too bad. They have them for 85.00 apiece, US.

Yeah those look like a pretty good tire too.
I think that's the only brand I can't buy locally IIRC, but I could be wrong.
Which potenzas for winter? some are all season, mine are summer only, they would be crap in snow, for damn sure. hehe

The Yokohama's.

I think the shipping price might ruin the good cost of the tires.
plus my other costs listed included installation and balancing which is usually 20/tire or so
it might still come out a bit ahead though, i'll have to do the math later and see. I wonder if duty has to be paid for these though? I am assuming since they are probably not made in the U.S. that I would get murdered on duty fees.

That I don't know, but you could call them and ask. They have always had great customer service when I've dealt with them in the past. Good luck!

I have the Nitto Neo Gen ZRs. They are dead sexy and have awesome grip, even in the rain. I have them in the same size you're looking at.

Nittos are looking really good.
I am just not sure if I can get those over here unless I ship them over.

Thanks for the help though so far, any more experiences would be fantastic.

The Kumho's suck, I hear the MX line is nice but no tread life.

I hear the Fuzion's are nice as well. Good tread life an plenty of traction.

Look into how much the Yokohama ES100' cost. Nitto 555 are awesome too but when they start to get to low on tread they howl like a mofo. I never heard of anyone using fusion...kumho are ok/decent. Try looking in toyos also...but i recommend the Yokos

Yokohamas are wicked indeed, I would love to do a Parada, but the friggin Fuzions are just such a good deal. I'll post up whatever I decide to go with. Anyone else with experiences? :)
