which tiny, light linux to run firefox and this script:

howdy experts.

i've never done the linux thing.. never had a need. but i do today!

i have an old sony laptop that can run windows 2000.. but gets bogged down quick enough.

i want to throw linux on it.

i want the smallest, lightest, and easiest (remember, total noob) distro that will run a web browser (probably firefox) that will run this script:

i dont care which browser, i don't care which distro... but it needs to be lightweight and as easy as possible to install. and the browser needs to run that script!

DSL is a small install, but about that script...uhh...that's HTML and needs to be saved into an HTML file for viewing. O_O

right. i know the script needs to be saved as an html doc to play.. what i don't know is is that script will work in any and every browser, or if it will only work in a few (i.e. firefox).

if it will work in any browser, than i'm looking for suggestions on the least memory hungry browser...

now on the DSL point, is that going to auto-detect most of my hardware? or is it going to be a long, arduous install process?

and are there any other suggestions?

It's difficult to try and guess what hardware will be a problem and what won't. Basically you just need to try it.

As for the script, it's just an iframe so it should run in any browser. Swiftfox is tuned to specific processors, but it's no longer in development.
