Which thumb do you use to hit the space bar?

I only use my left thumb. Back when I took a mandatory keyboarding class for high school, I was told that you were supposed to use the right thumb. But I never did. What about you guys?

why would you supposed to be use one thumb versus the other? the spacebar is long enough for both thumbs for a reason.

Because I've been using the right thumb for years and it just isn't right to use the left one anymore.. not to mention it is slower because I didn't use it as much as my right one. Much like which writing hand.

I have to use my left because the right side of my spacebar doesn't register a keystroke. I used to use both thumbs, but now even if I had a new keyboard I'd probably end up just using the left thumb because I'm so used to it.

why would you only use one shift versus the other? there are two shifts for a reason.

Judging by the wear of the texture on my space bar, it's easy to tell I only use my left thumb. I do, however, use either shift button. I use the shift button that's on the opposite side of the button I'm trying to push.

I am typing right now to see which thumb I use on the space bar. I apears I always use my right thumb and that my left just hangs there for no good reason

I originally voted left, but as I was writing a response to this message I noticed that I actually use both. Delete -> new response

I predict a "Which finger do you use to hit the F7 key" parody thread...:p

BTW-I use my right thumb. My keyboard at work has a bright shiny spot where my right thumb hits the spacebar.
