Which thermal interface material is better?

I went to the store the other day and asked them if they had some Arctic Silver. The guy brought me a big tube of AS3 and a small tube of AS5. Both were for the same price. I took the AS3 becasue there was more of it and I didn't think that there would be that big of a difference. Was I right in doing so?

AS5 is actually better and it's easier to spread as well. It's only slightly better though. It takes a while to use up a tube anyways.

On the side note, look at the number of grams not the size of the tube. It can be misleading.

The difference between 3 and 5 justifies going with 5t.

If you're about to buy a tube and are trying to figure out which to get, get 5. If you already have a tube of 3, that's good enough. At least that's my opinion.

The smaller tube of the AS5 has more than the larger tube of the AS3. The AS3 is 3.0 grams and the AS5 is 3.5 grams.

Has anyone ever used Antec Reference Silver thermal compound. I got it ages ago and haven't bothered to get any actric silver. Does anybody know how well this goop stacks up against the others out there.
