Which thermal compound that will last longest without reapplying?

I am using Arctic Silver 3 now but from what I have read, you have to reapply it after 3-4 months. I have the Alpha PAL 8942 so this will be tough to do without wasting too much time. Can anyone recommend me another compound that will work just as well and last longer, like a year or so without reapplying?

i've never heard of having to apply, arctic silver or otherwise

You don't have to reapply ASIII after 3-4 months. Just keep your eye on your temps. One of my P4 boxes is going on 14 months with it's original ASIII application. Everything is just fine.

I used to think the same thing bad_dude, your AS3 should be fine for a long time, as long as you didn't put too much or too little on.

I used AS in a Tbird box I built over 2 years ago. I've never even considered taking the HSF back off
