Which temperature is too high?

Hi there,
I'm running P4 1.8A@2.4 (133FSB) with Sunflower HSF + AS3... My idle temp is around 39-40C, but at full load (Prime 95), it goes up to 54-55C. Isn't it too high? Should Sunflower & AS3 combo make it run cooler? Or 55C at full 100% prolonged CPU load is ok?

My 1.8A @ 2.3Ghz, 1.58 Vcore with stock HSF (ASII) runs 39-41C idle, 52-53C during Prime95. These are MBM temps on an ASUS P4B266 board.
