i am getting a touch paranoid:
everyone seems to post temps of 38-48C for their 2100+xp
what i want to know is which temp are you quoting: the bios, asusprobe, diode or socket temp
my bios temp is around 43-48C
asus probe temp 38-43C
the MBM diode temp varies 51-58C [to 65C after couple hours prime95!]
the MBM socket temp is around 38-43C

should i worry about the verty high diode temps or just concentrate on the socket temp?
i will be upgrading my hsf from stock in the near future but the question of which temp to use remains.

btw i know this has been covered some weeks ago somewhere in the forums but i did do a search and didnt see anything before i posted this

thanks for your help

Touch the heatsink as close to the base as you can... if you can hold your fingers there without it hurting, it's fine. Not all motherboards report the temps from the same locations, and some just vary by a few degrees either way. Unless you have stability problems when the computer warms up, or the heatsink is hot enough that it's uncomfortable to hold while the computer is running, don't worry about it.
