You want to replace a phone with a 10" tablet??

Umm.. maybe ASUS Padfone or something like that? Other than that only Samsung's Note series does that. VOIP is OK on Wi-Fi, but it's shaky on mobile networks.

I will keep a traditional phone.

Oh, cheers then. It's also quite a bit cheaper.

Reading reviews, the OS seems to be Amazon-based rather than being a "real" Android device. 'sup with that? :)

It runs a custom version of Android designed by Amazon. I'm not sure what the exact process is to get native Android running on it, but the steps are out there for those interested.

Personally I'm waiting to see the new round of Android tablets before I buy anything right now.

I didn't know there were any Android ones that use 4:3, mind pointing them out?

There aren't many options: Archos has a 97 Titanium model that does it, for example. The problem is that there aren't really high-end Android 4:3 tablets where Apple only offers tablets in that ratio.

Also, I don't live in the US. As you may have guessed, I'm not a native speaker and live in Europe. That doesn't change the fact that the LTE-capability would come in very handy and the largest ISP here does offer the iPad at a decent rate. I hope it will come un-upgraded, though.

Probably want the iPad just for futureproofing, then. I wouldn't count on it being un-upgraded, but also... don't worry about it. You don't need to jailbreak an iPad to have a good time using it!

Now I'm not sure if I should get one now or wait until the next one is announced. When I get one from T-Mobile Europe, will I even be able to sell it or will it be sim-locked?
