Which system harddisk setup is better?

I saw the price for Two Western Digital Raptor 34GB is the same as the price for One Raptor 76GB. If I setup a RAID 0 using the older 34GB Raptors instead of getting a single 74GB Raptor am I doing any good or not? In theory it should have a bit more performance.

I think you would actualy be better off with the single 74gig raptor. You will actualy get similar performance to what you would get with the 2 first gen raptors in raid-0, plus you won't have as much risk with a single drive, as you would with raid-0. In raid-0 if either drive fails, or gets corrupted, you lose your array..and everything on it..

single WD74. There are some optimizations in the WD74 that make it quieter, and ever so slightly faster.

Single 74GB Raptor, it can be up to 5% faster than the 36GB raptor.
