which surge protector to buy?

how do you decide which surge protector to buy? i'm told those cheap power strips that are sold as 'surge protectors' don't really work. What about those $30 APC ones?

how do you guys choose which one to buy?

I spend 35 bucks and get a cheap APC UPS.

I just bought a surge supresser for $13 lol.
Belkin has nice deals.

I spend more on quality surge protectors. If you are talking computer equipment then most definately I would be getting a APC.

home depot has the same items for cheaper, in my experience

my computer stuff is plugged into a 1500VA APC UPS, though

I bought mine at Walmart for $3.50 on clearance and have been using it for about 6-7 years now with no probs

You should have saved money and just bought a power strip/extension cord becuase thats all it is.
