Hi I'm looking for a new ssd that is under $100
It needs to be atleast 30gb would like it to be from either tigerdirect, newegg, or mwave but if there is a great steal at another store thats fine too

I got a Kingston 40GB V series SSD, the one with the Intel G2 controller, but lacking TRIM (officially, at least). It cost me $90 + tax from buy.com.

Since those are now discontinued, I suppose the next best would be the Intel X25-V 40GB. It's the same drive, but with Intel firmware and TRIM support. Costs a little bit more though. I've seen them as low as $110.

U can also find OCZ drives for under $100 AT NewEgg.

If you are waiting a week or so, check out The SSD Review below as the 'Buying A SSD' series is being released which may be of benefit. You can also find the crucial Refurb article there which may assist. They have phenom prices on refurb ssds but the site has to be watched daily. (eg 64Gb SSD for $64)

im in same boat im tired of kids pounding on teh desk so want a ssd, whats the best for the money id buy a bigger one but they prob will drop in price or jump in technology so the Intel X25-V 40GB looks good to me but rather have someone tell me ""this one is totally best buy"" hehe

You need to consider what you really want. First off, the new line of ssds will be both untested (remember the 602) and expensive. Retailers will hope to charge a premium for those that just have to have it.

On the other hand, with existing technology its pretty simple. If you want the best value, look for an OCZ or similar for under a hundred bucks. If you want the best visible change in your system overall, the only real choice in any range for a 'reliable' ssd is still the Intel, this coming from an understanding of the importance of small 4kb random reads and writes.
