Which SSD makers provide a Windows trim tool

I want to know which makers have a manual trim tool that can send the trim command to the drive. I want to upgrade an old laptop with vista and just don't feel like forking over extra cash for w7. I know about Intel's SSD toolbox but can't find anything for other makers.

Samsung SSD Magician is what I use in Vista on my laptop.
I would think that every reputable SSD maker has one tool.

So it looks like there is one for Samsung and Intel only ? I was thinking of buying crucial but it looks like they don't have a tool. Any 3rd party ?

Only Intel and Samsung offer toolboxes which include manual TRIM tools.

You won't find any 3rd party tools which do it for non-Intel or Samsung drives either.

There are some "methods" floating around the internet but they do not do the real TRIM and I would stay away from them.

This is one big reason I recommend and stick with Intel or Samsung.

Samsung has top notch reliability, proven by their deal with Apple.
Intel has top notch reliability, proven by their use in enterprise data centers.
M4's are great drives if priced right, IMO. I want that SSD toolbox though personally if a Samsung or Intel is within $100 range of a Crucial.

Bottom line:
Toggle nand + SSD toolbox + #1 or #2 SSD reliability = Samsung, and no others on the market today.

Major reevaluation needed once the Intel 520 arrives. As of today, Samsung is the king of all with Intel as a close 2nd.
Disclaimer: I use Intel (right now at least).

Thanks for that but it's only for windows 7 so what is the point. I'm suprised that no one made a tool for this. XP box with an ssd drive is a great upgrade.

Your right, sorry. For all their reliability problems, at least OCZ made a forced garbage collection too for their barefoot Indilinx range. So, it can be done if companies could be bothered.
