Which SSD for me + how to transfer OS from HDD to SSD..?

Mostly just to put in my OS (W7 64bits Home Premium) and a couple of games if I have the same...

I'm not sure about budget, I seem to see SSDs of 100GB from 100 to 200 and up euros.

What would be a good, reliable SSD for not too expensive these days..? There's a lot of choice out there and I'm a proper SSD noob.

Current system:

Asus P7P55D
Core i3-540
4GB DDR3 Corsair 1,333Mhz RAM
Samsung F3 500GB
GTX460
Antec 300

Another question I'd have for you guys is regarding the transfer of my OS + games from the HDD to the SSD... how would this happen? Would I be forced to format + reinstall the OS onto the SSD directly..? I have an OEM version of W7 and I'd rather not reinstall.

I was about to recommend the Vertex 2, but it seems you already have a preference for it. It's a good drive, go for it.

As for cloning, it's recommended that you do a clean install on any SSD, or performance will not be optimal.

I bought the 80GB Intel G2 and Intel provides a cloning tool that copies your data on the spindle drive to the SSD.

Can't you just do a Win7 "System Image" Backup and restore it to a new SSD without a cloning tool? I was going to try this but haven't had a chance yet. Of course you'd have to manually optimize a few settings after but other than that it should work right?

I know you can with Win 7 Professional. Not sure if the System Image and backup is an available option in Win 7 Home Premium.

For complete drive transfer, cloning is faster and more efficient than using backup image and restore. For best results use a cloning tool that is on bootable media so as not to involve your OS. That avoids issues. When done, swap the drives and boot. Should take no longer than 15 minutes all told.

I plan on buying the new Intel G3's when released so I guess I'll use their cloning tool.
