Hello,

Which SSD chipset is best for Raid 0 ?

I didnt know that Intel added TRIM support to their Raid until today , so I am thinking of upgrading my 2 desktop machines into 2x Raid 0 ... Sadly , Intel has only 2 SATA3 ports , so I am limited to 2 SSD in Raid 0 , 256G x2 .

What I have in Mind :

1.Samsung 840 Pro 256G (R/W 540/520 MB/s • R/W 100000/90000 IOPS , 512 DDR2 cache) , uses Samsung chip.

2.Kingston HyperX SSD 240G , (R/W 555M/510 MB/s • R/W 95000/45000 IOPS) , uses SandForce SF-2281 chip.

3.Plextor M5 Pro 256G , (R/W 540/450 MB/s • R/W 94000/86000 IOPS • 512MB DDR3 cache) , uses Marvell 88SS9187 chip.

4.OCZ Vertex 4 256G , (R/W 560/510 MB/s • R/W 90000/85000 IOPS • 512MB DDR2 cache) , uses Indilinx Everest 2 chip..

I really dont know how those drives will behave in Raid 0 , as a single drive , the Samsung 840 pro is the top performer ... but in raid 0 , I dont know which one is the best ...

Please advice ..
