Which sport do you think builds a persons overall fitness? Fitness, I guess would be overall strength, agility, speed, and endurance? I think they are as follows (not in order):

Soccer
Boxing
Swimming
Running

I know Boxing doesn't seem to fit, but man, those guys are running, working on footwork, hitting the bags as well as lifting weights. I'd say that a Boxers overall fitness is pretty darn good. Any other sports?

Boxing builds strength but what can you do with it if you're below retarded anyway?

I love playing soccer but for the best total body fitness swimming is where its at, you work most of your major muscles while giving yourself a nice cardiovascular workout as well.

Serious answer: probably Boxing, if I had to choose one sport.

Although bodybuilding + distance running is probably the best, but not really qualified for your question.

Overall fitness? Swimming without a doubt.

Bigger muscles to knock the crap out of your oponent? Boxing.

Swimming is nice because you don't feel yourself sweat ;)

But definately boxing, a few rounds in the ring is enough to really tire a guy out.

I have played soccer for 20 some years. Granted, i have gotten fat in the past 5 due to not being able to play as much. When i was in my prime though, i couldnt gain weight. Rock solid on every part of my body. Now, was it good for my knees and ankles? Hell no, cause i am paying for them now. So, my answer would probably be swimming if you could keep from getting swimmers ear.

So that's why boxers skip, to make their muscles bigger, not to be overall fitter so they can last in the ring, and not to improve their legs and footwork.
