i have an audigy 2 plat, and i have the klipsch 5.1 thx w/the decoder unit.

are the Creative Megaworks THX 6.1 Speakers better?

I've heard very good things about both. Since the Klipsch set is so good, though, I would think that there wouldn't be much of a noticable improvement in sound quality if any by switching to the Creatives.

klipsch is definatly a great brand the only advantage on the creatives is one extra speaker. I highley doubt you will notice a diferance. It is definatly not worth the 300+ bucks you will spend to replace an already great speaker system.

cool guys.
thx for the input.

i am just one of those poeple who like to upgrade. 🙂 i guess i shall stick w/the klipsch speakers for now. 🙂

Don't lie to us. We all know you'll end up getting the other ones in about a week. We all do that! 😛

I don't, lol, because I lack moneys. I'd be very very happy if you upgraded ME to the creative set, though! *nudge nudge* ^_-

man i am poor right now!

but i have the 5.1 decoder unit and i think it's too cool. so i wil stay w/the 5.1's.

if i was really rich i'd upgrade everyone!

The Klipsch are suppost to be good, but ive heard of loads of them having to be RMAed after a few months cos of a fault.
The Creative ones, while good as well, will also use the full capibilites of your cards 6.1 output.
If your Klipsch ones are doing you fine w/ no probs, then keep them as long as possible. If not then consider a different set. Ive never heard of probs with creative speakers or logitech.
On the other hand, very very few things will take advantage of the 6.1 outputs. Only 1 film comes to mind, SW:Episode2.
Theres both a chance that 6.1 will catch on quickly, leaving you and you Klipsch in the dark, but theres also the possibility that it wont, seeing as a hell of alot of people own some sort of 5.1 sound system, they`d risk alienating a large market share.
By the time 6.1 takes off, if ever, then your Audigy2/Klipsch will be bargain basement products, so you could always upgrade your sound system then.
Your choice.

I've never heard of problems with Creative speakers, but I sure have about Logitech. Quite a few people with the Logitech Z 560's (which I also have) had their fuse blow or something.

Sure, 6.1 is a whole extra channel, but what's so good about it? Oh big woop, you get one more speaker behind your head, I'm sure it's going to make a giant difference when there were already 5 before.
