Thanks for anyone who reads this post. I am getting ready to buy a Kt7a raid board, my quetions regards the soundcard. I was looking at the soundblaster x-gamer 5.1, but I do know that soundblaster doens't necessary work well with athlon boards. Any recommendations, thanks again for your time...

I've used an Aureal Vortex2 card, or rather, am using it now. Also used an MX400 card. I like the features of the card, but the tweaking utility is just pitiful. Otherwise, neither card gave me any trouble.
:(*Sniff*, still wish Creative wouldn't have killed Aureal.:(

My SoundBlaster X-gamer 5.1 is working just fine in my KT7A-RAID as I type this. You just need to disable the SB16 emulation in device manager.

Thanks for the post guys, are there any negatives by disabling the sounblaster emulation? Thanks again, I have the regular x-gamer in my k7m system and I don't have much problems.

I have a SB PCI512(basically the same as a live, but with less midi features) works fine.. even with sb emulation on.. I turned it off though to free up that irq.

I replaced my SB Live Platnium with the Philips Acoustic Edge and it is a great card. It works on my KT7A-RAID flawlessly in Win2K and Win98SE...see my system sig for details..:)
