Ok, im basically looking for a sound card. I need gaming./musical balance. I am currenly consider

TBSC TB Catalina, Via Envy (whichever is the high end one), maudio rev. Audigy ls

Which way should I steer?

I got an Audigy LS.

Like HALO for PC? Hardware Acceleration works improperly in that game. Other than that, no complaints

The TBSC is a good card.

I have heard that a new Philips sound card will be out soon and that it will be worth waiting for. Or if you can find an Acoustic Edge out there somewhere... Personally, I can't see spending good money on a sound card unless your integrated sound is dead.

Actually, I reformatted last night, and I didn't even have to restart after installing the TBSC's drivers, I just installed and sound started working.

Like I said.

Well, if you're really looking for "balance", then I'd say NONE of the choices you've mentioned. They all lean towards one side or the other. The Audigy2 is the most balanced card I can think of. It's music playback and is very close to the Revo 7.1 and similiar VIA Envy24 based cards, and it's gaming qualities are unmatched. The regular Audigy is excellent for gaming as well, but I personally find it's music playback to be distinctly behind that of the TBSC, which I still love, but hesitant to recommend it since it's way pasted it's life cycle and is no longer supported.
