Which sound card do you suggest?

i have used couple sound cards before, but did not really like them, so with your own expericen, can you tell me which sound is good? I'm not like a musician or anything, and it doesn't really matter if it's the best card out there. I just want a card that won't cause any problem under Windows XP. Any suggestion will be appreciate it, thank you.

Turtle beach Santa Cruz. It was the first with signed drivers for xp. No problems in xp at all. Large feature set and noticeable better sound quality than a Live card.

well, i've heard the audigys are good, and i've always liked creative cards, so my biased suggestion goes to sb audigy.

if you have a good speaker setup (like a subwoofer and more than 2 satellites) you could go with something else a step up. i have a hercules game theater xp (no relation to windows) and i love it. the sound quality is awesome and it lets you get some direction in games if you have 4 satellites. its got a full software pack and options. plus that cool break out box.
all good things

but if you just need something simple, i wouldnt suggest it. it would be a bit overkill in that situation.
