I didn't see anyone posting this on the X1800 o/c thread, so here it goes:

Which software tool can be used to oc/ the X1800?

Can an Ati Silencer for the X800 be used for the X1800 family?
(I guess the answer here is no, as the board layout seems to be different).

OC a brand new, top of the line card.......not to mention a $400+ card....still don't get it...

Not top of the line. Top of the line would be the 7800GTX.

The 1800XT cannot be considered top of the line because it is still not out there.

If you don't get it, perhaps someone can explain it to you.....start your own thread and ask.....

dunno, but i sure would like to get 1. - a new QUIET cooler for my x1800xl as it is driving me nuts, and 2. - get some drivers (with ccc) for it.

Hope Arctic Cooling or Zalman get their acts together and make a good cooler for this thing - I will be clawing at their doors if they don't....

I tried the ATI tool with mine and it just rebooted.... yay.

A new Atitool is underway. We have to wait.

The CCC driver 5.10a has the overdrive option.

The cooler must be replaced indeed. It is too noisy under GPU load.

ATI Silencers will not fit the X1800 series - they have an entirely new design; the RAM positions and mounting holes are in totally different places, there's more RAM chips, the card is much larger, etc. You will have to wait for Arctic Cooling to get their @sses in gear for this one.

Regarding software, I think you will have to wait for a new ATITool.

You can also try ATI Tray Tools, but I'm not sure if that one works with the X1800's either...
