Which socket?

I was about to go ahead and get a new socket 754 chip and motherboard but I wanted to find out if that's the most sound decision. What way are most of you heading?

I'm going s754. I'm just going to skip s939 and get a PCI Express motherboard eventually, probably.

I bought Socket 754 processor, but a mobo that can do both.....ASROCK K8 COMBO-Z. The only review I've seen was very favorable (for both s754 and s939) so I took a chance. Newegg offers it for $77. Net, I won't be out a ton of $ if it blows. Plus, I could always return it....
