Which socket/chipset will support dual core AMD's?

I haven't really been paying to much attention for a while since work has been buying my computers and they've all been Intel. But I've convinced them to let me build my own.

I'm tenatively planning on a NF4 chipset MB. Do I understand correctly that if I want dual sockets I need a 940 MB?

And if I want to do a single socket 939 now, will I be able to upgrade it to a dual core chip in a few months or will that require a new MB?

Anything else I should look at? Sky's the limit. I'll probably do dual SLI 6800 ultras.

Socket 940 and Socket 939 with 940 support coming first (I think/thought) but you don't have the upgrade options on the 940 (Only Opterons or FX's for 940) now like you do with 939 and have to pay more for registered ram.

I would go with NF4 or Via Dual Graphics and a very highend PSU. I am talking 30amp plus on the 12v and 3.3v rail and 25-35amp on the 5v rail wouldn't hurt either with dualcore cpu and dual PCI-ex high end graphics cards and SCSI 15000rpm and/or Raptors. LOL
