Which SETI CLI client for T-bird?

Hey guys. Long time, no post. I'm adding my new T-bird 800 to the cause, and want to know which CLI client I should run. Here's what I currently have:
AMD T-bird 800 @ 800
ABIT KT7-RAID
128meg PC133
IBM GXP75 15gig 7200rpm ATA100
IBM Deskstar 3 3.24gig
Plextor 1210a 12/10/32 CDR/RW
Pioneer 105s 16X DVD
CreativeLabs AWE32
Diamond Viper 330 (cough..cough..hack )
InWin Q500N w/ 300w Antec PS
Win98

Anyway, the reason I ask about the client is because I want to run the new v3.0 CLI but the non-intel processor client isn't available, AFAIK. Will the standard 3.0.i386-winnt-cmdline.exe work as well for the t-bird? Thanks.

Thanks Blade. Do you know if there are any differences between the Intel CLI and the non-Intel CLI, as far as performance is concerned?

I don't know about what the performance differences are for the different clients. I do know that many people are running the client you mentioned with their amd cpus and are reporting big performance increases.:)

I can confirm that.. I've upgraded to the 3.0 CMD-Line client on my Athlon 750 and on a friend's Athlon 650, and both machines are doing WUs approximately 20% to 30% faster than with the 2.x CMD-Line client.

I've also noted a MAJOR performance boost with the 3.0 GUI client over the 2.x GUI client when run on Celeron PCs; my Celeron 466's(occasionlly available at work) have improved from 16hrs/WU(2.x) to between 9 and 11hrs/WU(3.0)!! :Q That's one heck of a boost! ;)

I've noticed it shaved about an hour of my average time with my celery 300a@375 as well. I guess I need to put v3.0 on the 366 as well.:)

Hi ,I don't remember seeing you post here before ,good to see ya :) ,where've you been ? ;)
BTW when did you join TA SETI?
Ref the non-intel client ,I would guess that you wouldn't have to wait long to see the v3 version ,probably within 2 weeks.
Was the old v2.x version much faster than the Intel 2.x version?

Hi all. No, I'm not the founding father of Team Anandtech, that would be Vapour, but I've been a member for about as long as the team has existed. I started the team about the same time as MGallik and Rellik Remag. For a long time there was a battle between us for the top 10. Granted, this is back when we only had about 40 or 50 members. Since then, they've added more computers to the cause, while 7 of my original 9 had to go back to office duty. They gradually pulled away and never looked back. For the past 7 or 8 months I've only had 2 PII400's running 24/7. I'm now adding one more, my newly built T-bird 800.
As for seeing me around hear at the boards. Well, lets just say I've been a member here almost from the beginning. I used to post quite often, but now work gets in the way most of the time. Take the number of posts that my profile shows with a grain of salt. When they switched the forum to a new system, I lost all of my previous posting history. I usually read the boards when I get a chance, but rarely post anymore (just not enough time). I'm trying to change that though, since I really like this forum, and most of it's members.;) Usually I lurk in the background, and only post if I feel I can contribute something of relevance. I don't like to partake in meaningless posts, unless it's something fun like the old "Butter" thread from long ago, just to run up my posting numbers.
Thanks for the help on the CLI question. Last night I configured my T-bird to run the new v3.0_winnt client, with SETISpy and SETIDriver controlling the client. If and when the non-Intel v3.0 client comes out, I'll run that and do a comparison between the two to see which one performs better on the T-bird.

TuffGuy, have you had any problems with your KT7 automatically rebooting during an initial startup? For some reason mine does this on occasion, I've got the KT7-Raid. I've read, at the Abit KT7 FAQ site, that it could be caused by a Seagate tape backup driver. Since I just removed a old Colorado backup, this may be the cause. I just wanted to see if you were having a similiar problem.
One other thing, what HSF are you using to OC to 1133? I'm thinking of doing to same with my 800, but want to make sure the HSF was up to the task. I currently have, I think, a GlobalWin FOP32.

:) one of the reasons why i chose not to get the kt7-raid. most of the kt7 problems that i read about involved the raid controller. i have had no problems whatsover. (knock on wood)

i used a socket 370 gorb that i had lying around. i managed not to crack the core :). temp's at 41c/22c under full load. your heatsink should be fine for it. if not, the Taisol is better than a gorb, almost as good as an alpha, but only costs $11.30.
